Geiger is a competent and reliable partner if you want to automate your sun protection. With the manufacturer's innovative AIR products, rolling shutters, Venetian blinds, awnings and Zip systems are now easily Smart Home Ready - all the way through to integration into the Loxone's Smart Home automation. The latest addition to the AIR product range is the Zip AIR. Presented for the first time by Geiger at the R+T2018, it not only integrates Zip systems into the automation, but at the same time moves them with a unique sensitivity.
Automotive sun protection elements require intelligently controlled and sensitive drives in order to be safely protected against damage. With four specialized AIR motors, Geiger offers a solution optimally adapted to the respective blinds for every sun protection.
The new Zip AIR scores with its extremely reliable obstacle detection: it senses any resistance at any point on the way to the upper or lower position. Whether it is a gust of wind or a garden chair - Zip AIR recognizes the danger immediately and ensures outstanding system protection. The sensitive control also moves and stops the delicate textile blinds particularly gently to keep the sun protection permanently attractive and functional.
Like all Geiger AIR products, Zip AIR communicates via a bidirectional radio. Commands are not only received, but confirmed after execution or sent as an error message. The integrated mesh technology acts as an amplifier in each drive if necessary, passing on the signal and thus increasing the range of the radio system.
The weather station AIR controls all AIR drives with its sensors for sun, wind, rain and temperature. It controls the entire sun protection fully automatically and operates both in standalone mode and integrated into the Loxone system. Mounted as a standalone, the sensors measure rain, wind and brightness and pass on the information to the controls. As a result, the sun protection is used depending on the weather conditions.
In strong sunlight in summer it closes autonomously to prevent overheating of the rooms. In case of rain or wind, the sun protection elements are moved to the upper end position to prevent damage. Different wind thresholds can be set as needed. If the weather station is integrated in the Loxone Smart Home system, the temperature is also recorded as fourth information.
The three other drives in the AIR product family are also perfectly matched to the needs of their sun protection elements: Proven a million times the Venetian blind drive GJ56 AIR, the functional Flex AIR for rolling shutters and screens and the awning expert Sun AIR. With the various AIR components, all sun protection elements both inside and outside the home can easily be automated and later integrated into a complete Smart Home system from Loxone. When for example, heating, lighting, alarms or fire detectors are networked with the sun protection in the entire house, not only the energy efficiency but also safety and comfort are increased. The client decides what and when to install and how much he wants to invest. He is always on the safe side with AIR. Even better, he is already prepared for the future.
